This Mumei (Den Unju) belongs to Jojo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 64.6 cm or 25.43 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.55 cm or 1.00 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.9 cm or 1.14 inches.
Kasane : 0.62 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period.
Shape : Wide 3.55cm and thick Mitsumune blade with Okissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada, Masame and Mokume mixed with Chikei.
The Jigane is beautiful Chirimen Hada. There are Utsuri.
Hamon : Suguha base, Ko-Gunome Midare mixed. There are many Ashi and Yo.
Special feature : Unjyu was working from late Kamakura period to Nanbokucyo period.
At that place, Unsyo, Unji, and Unjyu were well known sword maker which is called Ugai school or Unrui.
The style is slightly different to neighboring Aoe and Bizen. The Jigane is Chirimen Hada and well grained.
This blade is wide and has many works in Ha.
This is gorgeous blade.
