This Mumei (Kanenaga) belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
Chukoto : Josaku : Owazamono : Bizen
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 66.0 cm or 25.98 inches.
Sori : 2.4 cm or 0.94 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.10 cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.47 cm or 0.97 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period.
Shape : he blade is Oosuriage mumei(cut shortened)
On both sides of the blade has Bo-hi is engraved .
The blade is regular size width and thickness with deep sori.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attached. There are Chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki, Chojimidare, deep nioikuchi, and in hamon, there are many sunagashi and ashi and kinsuji work.
Boshi is Midare komi style.
Special feature : Kanenaga was a student of Osafune Nagayoshiin Bishu Osafune school.
His blades are almost Mumei. And his blades with signature are very rare.
His blades are very similar to Nagayoshi.
But some his blades are more conspicuous Soshuden style than Nagayoshi.
This blade is Bizenden style with Soshuden style mix, this blade is masterpiece of Soshuden Bizen.
