The blade was polished .
Blade length : 68.02cm or 26.78inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47inches.
Width at the hamachi : 2.53cm or 1.0inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 1.62cm or 0.64inches.
Kasane : 0.77cm or 0.3inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period.
Shape : The blade is regular sized oosuriage Mumei sword(cut shortend)
Jitetsu :Itame and Mokume hada well grained with much Jinie and Chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki Gunome midare hamon and in Ha, there are many Sunagashi and Kinsuji work.
Special feature : It is the accepted view that Kaneuji,
one of a ten brilliant pupils of Masamune was the founder of Naoe-Shizu school.
Kaneuji worked at Shizu in Mino province.
He and his followers moved to Naoe in the Nambokucho period.
Representative swordsmiths were Kaneuji, Kanetsugu, Kanetomo
and Kanenobu but their signed pieces are extremely rare.
This sword was reported as Oo Shizu before the war time but recently the blade was judjed as Naoe Shizu.
If we check check precisely,the blade looks like Ooshizu not Naoe.
If the blade will be polished in the future, the blade will be changed a lot both Jigane and Hamon.
Befor shipping this sword, we will touch up polish will be done.
Koshirae(mounting)
Tsuba:On the iron plate, a dragon is engraved.
Fuchikashira:On the syakudo plain plate, landscape, flying birds and an owl is
engraved by copper plate. signature(Tobu Jyu ??) good condition.
Menuki:on the syakudo plate, a kirin( chinese virtual animal)is engravced.
Saya:black roiro saya.
