Shinshinto : ChuJyo saku : Musashi province.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single Habaki.
Blade length : 68.0 cm or 26.77 inches.
Sori : 2.2 cm or 0.86 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.94 cm or 1.15 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.04 cm or 0.80 inches.
Kasane : 0.73 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : Regular size with large Sori. The long Kissaki, nice shape Katana.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with many Ashi. Boshi is round shape with Ashi.
Special feature : Shigetane is a student of Taikei Naotane.
He was a trusted person. He engraved the signature as "Shirakawashi Sawahara Minamoto Shigetane", "Oushu Sihakawa Han Shigetane".
His style looks like Naotane of Bizen-den. Probably, he made many swords on behalf of Naotane.
The trust he has from the Naotane is deep.

Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba, bee? is engraved with open work. Heianjo Tsuba.
Fuchi Kashira : Iron with sone design.
Menuki : Iron, dragon is engraved.
