This Mumei (Tegai) belongs to Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished
Habaki : gold foild single Habaki.
Blade length : 69.0 cm or 27.16 inches.
Sori : 0.1 cm or 0.03 inches.
Mekugi : 4
Width at the hamachi : 2.71 cm or 1.06 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.675 cm or 0.65 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Late kamakura period.(1185-1333)
Shape : Osuriage Mumei Katana. Ragular size with Sori.
The elegant shape katana.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. There are some Masa Nagare.
Hamon : Nie deki, Suguha with deep Nioikuchi. There are double Ha.
In Ha, there are Ko-Ashi and Sunagashi. The Habuchi is soft.
Boshi is Hakikake style with Kinsuji.
Special feature : Shikkake is one of the 5 Yamato school sword smith
groups including Hosho, Taima, Senjyuin and Tegai.
There are only few Zaimei works of them because, they focussed on making work for the monks. The Tegai School swordsmiths tempered fine jitetsu from the Kamakura period to the Nambokucho period.
This blade is nice work and beautiful Suguha Hamon.

Fuchikashira :Shakudo Nanako, The family crest(Aoi-Mon) is engraved with gold color.
Saya : Gold Nashiji Saya with family crest(Aoi-Mon) gold Makie.
Menuki : Shakudo, The family crest(Aoi-Mon) is engraved with gold color.
