Signature : Mumei (Tegai Kanetoshi)
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)This sword Mumei (Tegai Kanetoshi) is Saijo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 66.9cm or 26.34inches.
Sori : 2.2cm or 0.87inches.
Mekugi : 4 (3 filled)
Width at the hamachi : 2.845cm or 1.12inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.88cm or 0.85inches.
Kasane : 0.62cm or 0.24inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period.
Shape : It is regular width and thickness O-Suriage mumei with deep sori.
There is Bo-Hi engrave both at the front and back.
Suken or sword engraving is curved on the Hi.
Jitetsu : Masame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There is clear masame with much chikei work.
It is flowing jigane.
Hamon : Konie Deki suguha with mixture of Nijyuba. There is Uchinoke mixed.
There is sunagashi and kinsuji works. Boshi is no turn back Yakizume style
with brushed up Hakikake hamon.
Special feature : Kanemitsu is one of the sword smiths of Tegai school.
He is said to be the student of Kaneyuki. Tegai is one of the big 5 sword smith schools
of Yamato with Houshou, Taima, Senjyuin, Shikkake.
There is only few sword smith with signature at this school which makes many Mumei sword remaining.
Honami Kisouji is one of the family member of Honami Jyuuni ke
and is the chauffeur of the Kaga Maeda school. This piece was attributed as Yamato Kuni Hosho
Sadamune by Honami Kisouji and was the sword called Sukekawa Jyoushu Yamabe Hyougo Haito.
Sukekawa castle was also called Sukekawa Kaiboujyou Castle. This castle was made
around the last shogunate and it is placed in Hitachi City, Ibaragi Prefecture now.
It is now a park and full view of the ocean can be overlooked.
I think this sword is yamato Hosho which is different to the estimation
of the NBTHK which they written Tegaki Kanetoshi.
It is balanced itame pattern hada so we hope this sword will be hold by Nihonto fans.
It is flawless and high quality polish applied already.

Tsuba : Tachi Tsuba Silver plate
Fuchikashira : Kojiri; Shakudo plate with Karakusa leaf pattern engraved.
Saya : Aogai Abalone saya
Menuki : Shakudo plate with dragon fly design engraved and inlaid with gold.
