Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (unsigned)(Enju school)
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 68.5 cm or 26.96 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.75 cm or 1.08 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.85 cm or 0.72 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : From late Kamakura period to early Nanbokuho period.
Shape : This blade is regular sized Osuriage-Mumei Katana with nice Sori. It’s very nice shape.
Jitetsu : Very tight Ko-itame with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Ko-nie based, Suguha. There are many Ashi and Yo in Ha.
Boshi is round shaped, and peak is rather tight, and Jizo style Kaeri.

Special feature : Enju school was reported as Rai Kuniyuki school.
The founder of the Enju was Kunimura and educated many swordsmith like Kunitoshi ,Kunitoki, Kuniyasu. Muniyoshi, Kuninobu and so on.
They worked from late Kamakura period to Nanbokucho period who were very similar with Rai school.
This blade is very healthy without Kizu, and this blade has passed
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper.

Historical background : In 1336, Ashikaga Takauji revolt against the Emperor Go-Daigo.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : A round shaped iron Tsuba.
Fuchikashira : On the nice red taste copper plate, devil and sky soldiers is engraved.
Menuki : A dragon is engraved with copper.
Saya : On the black roiro saya, a dragon is inlayed by shells.
