Width at the hamachi :2.95cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.12cm or 0.83 inches.
Kasane : 0.68cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape: It is wide and thick long kissaki. The shape is healthy and strong style.
Jigane: Koitame hada well grained with Jinie attached. It is clear Jigane.
Hamon: Nie Deki with deep NIoiguchi Hamon.
The Hamon line becomes O Gunome midare Doranba hamon
with much ups and down in the ha with a drop of burned parts.
Special feature :Okushu Shirakawa Omi Tegarayama Masashige is the son
of the Ujishige of Himeji, Banshu Province and received the fourth generation post.
He has signed the signature Ujishige until in Tenmei 8th year he become
the chauffeur of Matsudaira Sadanobu of Okushu Shirakawa.
He obtained his skill by influence of Sukehiro and Suishinshi Masahide.
This piece is Tegarayama Masashige's deep gunome midare and Doiranba mix work.
It is bright hamon line with deep and excellent O Gunome midare with drop burn.
It is work that does not appear often. We recommend this Katana.
Koshirae: It is rather calm and nice feeling koshirae.
Tsuba: Round shape iron tsuba with wide rim. Japanese radish is engraved
and inlaid with gold at right and left side of the plate.
Fuchi: Shakudo nanakoji plate with Shi Shi design engraved.
Kashira: Tsuno
Saya: Black Roiro saya
Menuki: Shakudo plate with Shi-Shi dog design engraved and inlaid with copper.
