Signature : Osaka Ju Takahashi Nobuhide 84 Sai Kin Kitae.
Tame Gotaiten Kinen Showa 3 Nen. (1928)

The sword was made bu Takahashi Nobuhide age 84 in order to make
anniversary of Gotaiten (Enthronement of the Japanese Emperor) at Showa 3rd.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword Takahashi Nobuhide belongs to regular ranking.
The blade is polished.
Habaki : Gold color single habaki.
Blade length : 61.1 cm or inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.26 cm or inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.51 cm or inches.
Kasane : 0.54 cm or inches.
Era : Showa 3rd (1928)
Shape : The blade is slender with deep curve elegant shape.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained like Muji style.
Hamon : Niedeki Suguha and Boshi Ichimai style.
Special feature : Takahasi Nobuhide, Gassan sadakatsu, Yoshichika made many Gotaiten Tachi at that age.
I think these swords were made by western iron like Hayama Enshin. But recently it is rather hard to obtain Gotaiten Tachi.

Historical back ground : May 6th, 1928, Chosakurin:Zhang Zuo-Lin who belongs to Manchuria officer was assassinated with bomb. It is said that this was done by Kwantung army, the group of the Imperial Japanese Army.
