The blade was polished
Habaki:gold single habaki.
Blade length : 75.1cm or 29.57inches.
Sori : 1.7cm or 0.67inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.385cm or 1.33inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.34cm or 0.92inches.
Kasane : 0.8cm or 0.31inches.
Weight of only blade:1015g
Era :Edo period Circa Genroku(1688-1704)
Shape : The width is quite wide 3.38 katana. It is also thick and firm katana.
It is heavy looking katana.

Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with some clear hada parts. There are some
chikei parts.
Hamon : Nie base with equal hight kogunome mixture. The nioi line is deep and
there are delicate sunagashi seen. Boushi is round end.

Special feature : There are two generations, the first generation and second generation,
in Oumi no kami Hojyoji Masahiro and they have been successful as Edo Hojyoji school.
The fist generation Houjyouji Masahiro's sir name was Takigawa.
First he was active at Tajima which is now the North south area siding to sea of Japan.
Later on he became very successful at Edo by making identical piece of Kotetsu.
This piece is made by second generation and is similar to the first generation pieces.
It is wide and thick sword 1015g magnificent sword.

Koshirae : Handachi koshirae. Yamagane Issaku koshirae
Tsuba :On iron tsuba folk symbol is engraved in open work. Mid Edo period.
Fuchikashira :Yamagane plate
Kojiri and Kurigata: Yamagane plate.
Saya : On ishimeji family crest is engraved.
Menuki : Dragon design is engraved. Late Edo period.
