This Hosokawa Masamori belongs to Saijo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished
Habaki : Gold double foiled habaki
Blade length : 80.4 cm or 31.65 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.19cm or 1.25 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.18 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.93 cm or 0.36 inches.
Era : Late Edo Period Bunkyu
Shape : It is wide and thick healthy katana.
It is O-Kissaki maginificent looking katana.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There is Chikei works attached. It is clear Jigane.
Hamon : Nie Deki choji midare with Ashi well attached.
Boshi is midare komi style.
Special feature : Sakuyo Makushita Uji Hosokawa Masamori has studied
under his father Hosokawa Masayoshi. He has been working
as a chauffeur of Tsuyama Domain Matsudaira gamily.
He was born in Shimono Kuni Shikanuma in Bunsei 5th year.
He has been moving to Edo and has studied under taikei Naotane.

Tsuba : Round shape iron tsuba with butterfly design engraved. Edo Period.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo plate with demon design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Saya : Black Roiro saya.
Menuki : Shi Shi plate with gold inlay.
Historical Background: Ando Nobumasa has been attacked in Bunkyu 2nd year January.
