The blade was polished.
Blade length : 60.90 cm or 23.97 inches.
Sori : 1.95 cm or 0.76 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.87 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.07 cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.60 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is healthy nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach.
Hamon : From the Hamachi, suguha and then gunome midare with very thick nioikuchi and round shaped hamon.
Special feature : He was a member of the Uzen Yamagata clan Kawabe Gihachiro fujiwara Masahide was born Kanen 3rd year.
He was named Suzuki Takuei or Eikoku under the Shitahara Yoshihide and later
on he moved to Edo and worked for Akimoto daimyo family.
At Bunsei Gannen he changed his name to Amahide and died Bunsei 8th Sep 27 age 76 years.
His career is more than 50 years.
First he was strongly influenced by Sukehiro or Shinkai and made gorgeous Doranba hamon and thick nioikuchi Shinkai style.
But he found that these swords with thick nioikuchi are easy to break.
So he advocated that Japanese swords must be Koto blade like small gunome or choji midare hamon.
Generally sword collectors like active hamon like Oosaka shinto style.
He also educated many swordsmiths Hosokawa Masayoshi, Taikei Naotane and others.
This blade looks like Go style which was made by his early stage.

Tsuba :On the round shaped Shakudo migakiji, covered by gold Fukurin.
Fuchi: On the shakudo nanako plate, waves are engraved.
Kashira : Horn.
Saya : Black roiro saya.
Menuki : On the shakudo plate, very small bamboo is engraved.
Kozuka : On the shakudo nanako plate, instrument Japanese Koto is painted.
Kogatana : Oumi no Kami Kanenao.
