Bunkyu 3 Nen 11 Gatsu Hi (November 1863)

This sword belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
Shinshinto : Jyo saku ranking : Musashi province.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 68.6 cm or 27.00 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.97 cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.30 cm or 0.91 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade with nice sori wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nioideki gunome midare and choji midare mixed with ashi.
Boshi is midare style round shape.
Special feature : Tairyu-sai Munehiro(Sokan) was born at Hurukawa province near the river Abukuma.
He moved to Edo Fukagawa Hakozaki city and studied from Koyama Munetsuggu.
Therefore his first stage of the blade is very close to his master.
After that he made swords as a purpose cut well sword.
So his most of the blade is Kogunome midare with a lot of Ashi.
Some swords has Utsuri appear.
He is good at also engraving.
This blade is very nice quality both Jigane and Hamon without kizu and flow.

Tsuba : On the mokko style iron Tsuba Shishi dog is engraved. Echizen Jyu Kinai Saku.
Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo Ishimeji men design is engraved and inlaid with gold color iroe. Nariyama
Saya : Black Roiro saya.
Menuki : Plant is engraved and inlayed with gold color iroe.
Kozuka : On the syakudo plate, flowers are engraved with gold color iroe.
Kogai : On the syakudo plate, flowers are engraved with gold color iroe.
