Translation of Tanobe sensei Kotani Takenori
There is a chronicle Showa 18th year
It is made for the NIhonto forging event Zosaku.
It is cut Yasutake.
On the other hand he has made swords at his own
forging place. When he has made swords for the army,
he has written Army Taisho Nara Taketsugu.
Alike other Yasukuni swordsmith he has expressed the old Osafune Nagamitsu piece.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold single foiled habaki
Blade length : 70.1cm or 27.6 inches.
Sori : 2.1cm or 0.83inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.14cm or 1.24inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.08cm or 0.82inches.
Kasane : 0.63cm or 0.25 inches.
Era :Showa period.
Shape : It is wide and thick deep sori with boshi rather long. It is nice shape katana/
Jitetsu :Itame hada with mixture of mokume hada.
Jinie is well attached There is clear jigane.
Hamon : Nioi structure with gunome choji mixd.
There is soft ashi and the nioiguchi is "smoky" style.
Special feature : This katana was made at Takenori's own forging place.
It is long shape katana and it is gorgeous style gunome choji. From the monouchi,
it is calm ha and the boshi is ratehr notare style.
It is immitation of Nagamitsu. The boshi is sansaku style.
