This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 69.1 cm or 27.20 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.2 cm or 1.25 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.55 cm or 1.00 inches.
Kasane : 0.85cm or 0.33 inches.
Era : Late Edo period Bunse era.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with longer kissaki healthy blade.
Hamon : Koniedeki Cyoji midare with long ashi which is called Ashinaga Cyoji)
In Hamon, there are sunagashi and small kinsuji work. Boshi is midarekomi style.
Special feature : Akama Tsunanobu was born in Yonezawa province, present yamagata pref.
He learned under Kato Tsunahide. The Kato clan was one of the most prosperous School in Shin-to period at Edo.
Tsunahide and Tsinanobu were very good at Toran-ba and Cyoji midare hamon.
This blade is very similar with Cyounsai Tsunatoshi.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : Iron Tachi tsuba.
Saya : Aogai chirashi (tiny blue shell powder spread on the saya)
Menuki : A dragon is engraved by brass.
Fuchikashira : On the iron plate, waves are engraved.
Kojiri : On the iron plate, waves are engraved.
