The blade was polished.
Habaki : single silver Habaki
Blade length : 76.2 cm or 30.0 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.27 cm or 1.28 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.67 cm or 1.05 inches.
Kasane : 0.82 cm or 0.32 inches.
Era : modern times(1993)
Shape : It reminds of Nagamaki Naoshi. Wide and thick blade with Bo-Hi and Soe-Hi. The Kissaki is long.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. It is clear Jigane.
Hamon : Ko-Nie Deki, Gunome Midare and Choji Midare.
There are manu Ashi and Kinsuji. Boshi is Midarekomi Togari gokoro shape.
Special feature : Yatsushiro ju Yoshitsugu. He was a student of the Tanigawa Moriyoshi
and got the Nyusen prize and Doryokusyo prize.
This blade is Gassaku which was made by Kanetsugu and Yoshitsugu together.
Akamatsu Taro Kanetsugu is one of a very popular modern swordsmiths who lives
at Yatsushiro in Kumamoto pref. His real name is Kimura Kanesada.
He was born in 1951 and learned under his father Kimura Kaneshige.
He is one of the students of Akamatsu Taro. The Akamatsu Taro school uses original Tamahagane
for making swords so it is not difficult to see their characteristic
from the jigane. Kanetsugu mentioned by himself the blade as Kiyomaro Utsushi(copy of Kiyomaro)
In Hamon, there are many sunagashi and also kinsuji work.
Akamatsu Taroo school sword makers head of the school Kanetsugu and other students
cut the signature Akamatsu on the top of the name Kanehiro, Kanemitsu, Kaneteru and Kaneyuki.
These sword makers are well repotted as cut well swords.
This blade has nice Yakiba. The shape is copy of Nanbokucho period Nagamaki.

Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba, the flower is engraved with open work. Middle Edo period.
Menuki : The flower designe. modern times.
