Explanation: Kobatashi Magoroku 9th generation Naohiro.
Keio first year(1865) October lucky day.
Shinshinto:Cyu saku :Uzen province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: syakudo single habaki.
Blade length : 76.6 cm or 30.15 inches.
Sori : 1.7 cm or 0.66 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.03cm or 1.19 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.35cm or 0.92 inches.
Kasane : 0.71 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Late Edo period Keio era.
Shape :The blade is long ,wode and thick with long kissaki nice looking shape.
On both sides of the blade engraved Ken and Dokko.
on the reverse side, engraved deep Kenmaki ryu (a dragon)
is twining a Ken and swallowing and also dokko.
Hamon:Niedeki suguha thick nioikuchi and also regular tight suguha.
Kissaki is round shape and turns back tight kogunome midare.
Special feature :Naohiro was working at Yonezawa Uzen province 1865 but unfortunately
Japanese government changed to Meiji period and issued Haito-rei(decree banning the wearing of swords)
so he was obliged to finish making swords.
The engraving was made later on but nice deep engraving.
Koshirae: good condition with out Kizu and scratches.
tsuba:On the old matsu tree is engraved open work. middle Edo period.
Saya:on the red brown color ishimeji saya, a rope and an instrument is painted by gold and silver color.
Kojiri:On the iron plate, flower design is engraved.middle Edo period.
Fuchikashira:On the iron plate, flower design is engraved. middle Edo period.
Menuki:On the syakudo plate, Mt Fuji and crowds are engraved with gold and solver color.middle Edo oeriod.
