Hamon : Niedeki Gunome with Ashi and Sunagashi a lot. Boshi is Midarekomi style.
Special feature : Kawai Hisayuki is a lineage of Kawai Saurai family.
He got interested in making swords and he studied under Hosokawa Masayosi and also Ikkansai Yoshihiro. His concept fro forging swords was to make Wazamono cut well swords.
So generally his swords are not so fancy, simplicity for Hamon but the blades were tough and well cut. He also made many Yari and Naginata.
This sword was ordered by Iida Chikanori who was also samurai and named the signature on the tang. I think this sword is one of the best work of Kawai Hirayuki.
Iida Chikanori think to be one of the publisher of a book ‘Syoke Sei Uji Ganso Den’ (documents for clans ancestor).
He must be a good researcher and also a good samurai.
We strongly recommend this nice Jigane and Hamon.
