The blade was polished.
Habaki : copper plate single habaki.
Blade length : 71.0 cm or 27.95 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi :1
Width at the hamachi : 2.86 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.79 cm or 0.7 inches.
Kasane : 0.56 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : The blade is regular sized small sori strong feeling.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grained with jinie attach beautiful texture.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and notare and also gunome midare
mixed with deep nioikuchi. Boshi is round shape hakikake style.
Special feature : Ogasawara Syosai Nyudo Nagayoshi was born at
Ichihara Izu province. Unfortunately his father was working at
Abe Ise Kami Masakatsu but he was fired due to the finance
reason of his master.
So his son studied to make Yoroi and Kabuto and after that he
made swords. His tecnique was excellent and made nice swords
during his life.
Right now he was judged as Jyo Jyo Saku ranking on the book
Fujishiro. This blade was made by Orositetsu by 28 forged.
The nengo also cut on the Nakago Enpo 8 Kanae Saru 8 gatsu
(August). Generally he put the signature just only 2 characters.
Therefor The signature is mentioned many characters means
very good sword. This sword looks like early stage of Inoue
Shinkai.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : on the iron Tsuba, many flowers are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : On the syakudo plate, ear of rice are engraved with gold color.
Saya : black roar saya.
Menuki : flowers are engraved by syakudo plate,
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper.
