The blade was polished.
Blade length : 65.45 cm or 25.76 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.96 cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.92 cm or 0.75 inches.
Kasane : 0.77 cm or 0.30 inches.
Era : War time (1942)
Shape : It is wide and regular width. There is slight Sori.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with Jinie attached.
It is beautiful jitetsu.
Hamon : Konie base Suguha with Ko-Ashi attached. Boshi is round ended.
Special feature : Yasushige, his real name Abe Shigeo, is from Yamagata prefecture.
He has been at the back of Yasumitsu. At Showa 14th year October 4th
he has received the name of Yasushige.
At the Army Gunto Exhibition, he has won the President Award
and has made any imerial katana and gusto.
Yasukuni blade was made in Yasukuni shrine for the purpose to make fine quality blades.
Yasushige imade katanas that are suguha base.
This blade is thick and healthy blade.
Recently the Yasukuni shrine blade is very rare to be seen. It is hard to find such blade.
The sword is NOT qualified as NBTHK Hozon Paper yet
however we guarantee that this sword will pass NBTHK Hozon paper.
