Era : Meiji period.(1869)
Shape : The blade is regular sized and thick kasane healthy nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attach and strong chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare and kinsuji in kissaki hamon.
Special feature : Kiyondo is first student of Kiyomaro.
The sword remind us Kiyomaro .
Especially Chikei and Kinsuji in Kissaki area.
This blade is listed by the book of”Kiyomaro-taikan”zz(p.239).
Koshirae : Shakudo ishimeji issaku aikuchi koshirae.
Fuchikashira :Shakudo ishimeji.
Saya : Black color with red brown color saya.
Menuki : On the shakudo plate, a cow is engraved.
Kozuka : On the brass plate, a willow and flying swallow are engraved.
Historical background: At early Meiji 4th, Japanese government issued decree banning the wearing of swords. This blade was made 2 years before the low.
Unfortunately Japanese sword makers must close their business.
