This Kanemoto(Magoroku) belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 23.2 cm or 9.13 inches.
Sori : 0.1 cm or 0.03 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.11 cm or 0.83 inches.
Kasane : 0.44 cm or 0.17 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period Circa Kyoroku.
Shape : Long Nakago with Gomabashi and Bo-hi engraved.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with Jinie attached.
The Hada pattern is clear and well seen.
Hamon : Nie Dkei Sanbonsugi Togari-Ba Gunome midare
with Sunagashi and Kinsuji activities.
It is Jizo style round end Hamon.
Special feature : Kanemoto second generation Magoroku, the highest position
of MIno sword smith, has learned from first generation Kanemoto.
He eventually get highly named for his disctinctive Sanbonsugi and Togariba hamon.
The producing time is from Daiei 3rd period to Tenon 7th year February 1538.
The style of first generation Kanemoto was passed down to second generation
which much sharpness added. He became Saijyo Owazamono work for his effort.
Of Jyuyo Tokenm tanto work is Suguha deki and Midare Sanbunsugi work ihas passed shinsa.
This work is Sanbonsugi magnificent work. It is rare work of Magoroku Kanemoto.
The signature is good and the Yasurime pattern is nice as well.
It is Ubu(original tang) work with one Mekugi hole.
