Sue koto : Chu Saku ranking : Mino province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword Kanetsuki belongs to Jo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single Habaki.
Blade length : 21.0 cm or 8.6 inches.
Sori : 0.0 cm or 0.0 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 1.96 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.51 cm or 0.20 inches.
Era : Muromachi period Bunan era (around 1444~1449)
Shape : The blade is slender and nice shape elegant Tanto.
Jigane : Itame Hada and Ooitame Hada mixed with Jinie attach and Chikei work nice beautiful texture.
Hamon : Niedeki Suguha Hamon.
Special feature : Kanetomo (or can be Kanemasu, from Kanji character) was working at Mino province from Bun-an era to Later Murimachi period.
I think the Jigane is solid iron Jigane nice well grained beautiful texture.
Even if the Tanto was burned but the elegant shape and the shrpe edge are both remaining well.
The Jigane is quite nice looks like Mino Kanesada swords smith.

Saya : Black Kawarinuri Saya.
Tsuba : Mokko style copper plate, some flower design is engraved with gold color. signature mentioned as Masanaga.
Fuchikashira : Flower and flying birds are engrabed on brass plate with Shakudo, silver and gold color.
Menuki : Big size brass Nanakoji plate Japanese Kannji character engraved with meaning of 'Kannin' (patience) and on the back engraved 'Kakugo' (resolution, resignation).
Kozuka : On the Shibuichi plate, Shishi dog is engraved by Shakudo and peony flower are engraved with gold color.
Kogatana : The signature is mentioned as Shizu Saburo Kaneuji.
