Tanto :Mumei (Higo Daijo Sadakuni)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 26.0 cm or 10.24 inches.
Sori : 0.1cm or 0.04inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.46 cm or 0.96 inches.
Kasane : 0.46 cm or 0.18 inches.
Era : Edo period.
Shape : It is rare Katakiriba tanto with the three-sided mune. On the surface there is grass style
Kurikara Aoi bori engraved and at the other side is written "Suken" in bonji.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie lightly attached with beautiful jigane.
Hamon : Nie based with kogunome and there are amazing sunagasi and kinsuji streaks.
The boshi is round headed.

Special feature : This blade is mumei but it is attributed as Higodaijyo Sadakuni.
Higodaijyo Sadakuni is a sword smith of Echizen Shimosaka. He had strong bond with
first generation Yasutsugu so many of his pieces has hori engraved. This piece has Katakiriba
tanto and there is a graceful hori both the surface and back side of the blade.
There is no kizu or flaw and please don't miss viewing this attractive katakiriba.
We recommend this great condition piece that survived the great era of great transition.

Saya : Black roiro saya with wave picture engraved.
Menuki : Plover design engraved with Kinmuku. Absolutely vigorous piece.
Kozuka: Shibuichi base with Japanese maple design engraved.
Kougai: Warikougai shibuichi base with wave and flying  prover engraved.
