Tanto in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Kaifu) Osoraku zukuri.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 25.4 cm or 10 inches.
Sori : 0.4 cm or 0.15 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.89 cm or 1.13 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.73 cm or 1.07 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is unusual Osoraku zukuri style.
Jitetsu : Itame had well grained with jinie attach and small chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki noter with thick nioikuchi and sunagashi, small kinsuji work. On the sinogi, tobiyaki work.

Special feature : Kaifu sword makers were working at Tokushima prefecture Kaifu city area from Nanbokucho period to late Edo period.
The sword was cheap price compare with other sword makers.
The blade was used as cut well sword.
Ujiyoshi and Ujitsugu are both well known sword makers and the signature is mentioned on the blade mainly not Nakago.
This sword was made at late Edo period.
Sometimes at Shimada, we can see the Osoraku zukuri style Tanto.
Kiyomaro is well known sword makers of Osoraku zukuri style.
Some sword lovers like this style Tanto.
The sword was polished perfectly and obtained NBTHK paper.
