This Mumei(Sue Bizen) belongs to Jyosaku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Copper with wave design engraved.
Blade length : 19.1cm or 7.51 inches.
Sori : 0cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.36cm or 0.92 inches.
Kasane : 0.87cm or 0.34 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is thick Mitsumune shape tanto. Tanto with Kenmakiryu
engraved in fine Kebori engraving.
Bonji is engraved on the front.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with mixture of Mokume hada.
Hamon : Konie Deki Suguha with mixture of Koashi.
It is soft Nioiguchi. Boshi is round end turning back deeply.
Special feature : This work is attributed as Sue Bizen work. It is most likely Tadamitsu's work.
It is quite thick healthy blade with So Kurigata hori engraved in the blade.
Koshirae : It is excellent Tanto koshirae. Ikeuchi Masayoshi Saku
Tsuba : Wood tsuba with guard design engraved. Signature: Masayoshi. Late Edo Period.
At first glance, it is Shakudo. It is nicely engraved on a wooden tsuba.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo plate with many men engraved and inlaid with gold.
Chofu Jyu Tomotsune saku. It is excellent work in prefect condition.
Saya : Vertical line engraved with flower and butterfly design engraved.
Menuki : Copper plate with catfish design engraved.
It is a design somewhat similar to tadpole.
It is inlaid with gold.
Kogatana: Shakudo Ishimeji plate with a group of around 30 men engraved
and inlaid with gold. It is nice work.
Kogatana: Jyumyo
Ikeuchi Masayoshi is presumably fitting producer of late Edo period.
It is one of well made Ikeuchi Masayoshi Issaku Koshirae.
