Width at the hamachi : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Mid to late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is very thick which is called Yoroi-doshi style.
Jitetsu : Koitame well grained with Jinie attach like Awataguchi Jigane.
Hamon : Konie structure suguha hamon with koasi.
Special feature : The founder of the Tosa Yoshimitsu started Tokuji era
and continued late Muromachi period 7 generations.
This Tanto looks early muromachi period.
Generally Jigane of the late generation Yoshimitsu has some kizu and
flow but this tanto has excellent Jigane like Awataguchi Jigane.
This piece is thick like Yoroi Doshi sword. The condition is very good.
Historical Background : On Bunmei 17th year(1493) Rebellion of Yamashiro Province occure.
On Bunmei 18th year water paint artist Sesshu has finished the masterpiece of water and ink painting Sansui Shokan .
