(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku,
Jo saku and regular saku)
This Yasutsugu belongs to Jo saku ranking.
The blade is polished.
Blade length : 54.0 cm or 21.3 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the Hamachi : 2.82 cm or 1.11 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.99 cm or 0.78 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Edo period.
Shape : Shinogi-Zukuri style with regular size long Kissaki.
Jitetsu : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Notare with Gonome Midare mixed. Boshi turns round shape. Boshi turns round shape.
Special feature : Yasutugu the first generation born at Omi Kuni Simosaka. He was lineage of Mino Senjuin school. He moved to Echizen and served Yuki Hideyasu the Daimyo of Fukui province, and used ‘Echizen Shimosaka’ at first. And then he recommended to Tokugawa shogunate and got consent to use Aoi Tokugawa clan crest.
Yasutugu the 3rd generation is a younger brother of the first generation. When Yasutugu the 2nd generation, the son of 12st generation has passed away still young, quarrel for whom inherit the 3rd generation has happen. The 3rd generation got separated to Edo Yasutugu and Echizen Yasutsugu.

Tsuba : Tidal wave carved on Mokko shape Shakudo Tsuba.
Fuchikashira : Aoi Karakusa carved on Shakudo Koshi plate with gold color.
Saya : Black Tsubobue Saya.
Menuki : Some unknown object carved on Shakudo plate.
Kozuka : Egrets carved on SHakudo-Nanakoji plate with gold color.
Kogatana : Some signature engraved but the words are hard to read.
