and is said to be the sword smith of Bingo province.
There are many sword smith such as Masaoki, Masachika, Masaoki. Masamori and Masasada.
The swordsmith of Kaigahara area of Onnabi(now in Hiroshima prefecture)
have traits to sign the letter 貝-Kai- on the nakago. Generally there are many small piece
but the jigane is well grained and beautiful with many Utsuri appearing.
Most of their sword is Suguha hamon.
This piece has long signature Bingo koku Mihara Junin Kai Masaoki.
It has beautiful shape with double Bo-Hi.
Koshirae : It is excellent koshirae. Snake design is engraved with a weed.
Tsuba : Round shape iron tsuba with warrior design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo plate with wave and Chidori design engraved.
Kojiri: Shakudo plate with wave and Chidori design engraved.
Saya: Black with Mokume wood grain like pattern engraved
and snake design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Menuki: Cicada design engraved.
