This Dewa Yonezawa Ju Akama Tsunanobu belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 53.93 cm or 21.23 inches.
Sori : 1.21 cm or 0.48 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.12 cm or 1.22 inches.
Kasane : 0.88 cm or 0.34 inches.
Era : Late Edo period. Tenpo era. 1842
Shape : Rather wide and thick Hirauchi Wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Ko Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. It is clear Jigane.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha. Boshi is round shape.
Special feature : Akama Tsunanobu is a sword smith of Yonezawa(Yamagata prefecture).
He is very famous sword smith in that place.
He is the disciple of Tsunahide. He made a lot of Doran-Ha and Choji-Ha swords.
This blade is not Doran-Ha, but nice Suguha Hamon.
This is rare blade which is Hirauchi Wakizashi in Tenpo era's blade.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba, dragon is engraved. Echizen Kinai. Edo period.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo Nanako, dragon and clouds are engraved. Late Edo period.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : Doragon is engraved with gold color.modern times(?)
