81 years old.
Shinshinto: Jyojyo saku: Satsuma province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Hoki Kami Masayuki belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 41.7 cm or 16.41 inches.
Sori : 0.4 cm or 0.15 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.18cm or 1.25 inches.
Kasane : 0.88 cm or 0.34 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is very wide and thick Hirauchi style sword.
On both sides of the blade, fat Bo-Hi are engraved.
Jitetsu :Itame hada with Masame hada mixed with jinie attach
and also long chikei along with masame hada appear strongly.
Hamon : Niedeki deeo nioikuchi futo suguha, long kinsuji work.
Boshi is also deep nioikuchi togari and turn s back.
Special feature : oki (No) Kami Masayuki was born as a son of the Second Masayoshi in1733.
Masayuki learned under Miyahara Masachika and served the domain of Satsuma.
Following the achievements of Mondo (No) Sho Masakiyo and Ippei Yasuyo,
Masayoshi is known as one of the representative swordsmith in the first half Shinshin-to period
in that province and ranked at Jojo-saku among the shinshin-to swordsmiths.
Masayuki used the name Masayoshi on his early works. On the occasion to be
the Hoki- (No) Kami in 1789, he changed the signature Masayoshi.
The workmanship resembles to Soshu-den style influenced by Shizu province.
Distinctive long line called Imozuru appear on the ha as a traditional Satsuma-to.
Masayuki passed away in 1819, aged 87. He had excellent abilities not only forging sword
as a retained swordsmith but also left a note concerning with forging sword and trained many pupils
This sword is very thick Hirauchi wakizashi both jigane and Hamon are very attractive item.
The sword was made 6 years before passed away.
Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the round shape iron tsuba, the signature is mentioned s Akao Saku.
Fuchikashira :Kojiri:On the syakudo plate, dots are engraved.
Saya : On the black saya, the design of Otame hada painted.
Menuki : Ume flower is engeaved by syakudo plate with gold color.
Kurokata:On the syakudo nanko plate, family crests are engraved
with gold and syakudo and copper plate.
Back ground of age of this sword was made.

and Russia ship Diana number is captured at Kunashiri-to,
captain Vasilii Mikhailovich Golovnin navy commanders and other 8 crew members
and detained (It's called Vasilii Mikhailovich Golovnin event.)

captured Barge merchant Takadaya Kahee as retaliation and cames to Hokkaido by ship.
vice captain RIKORUDO persuaded to release the hostages and finally succeeded.
