The blade was polished.
Blade length : 55.1 cm or 21.69 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.1cm or 1.22inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.35cm or 0.93inches.
Kasane : 0.66cm or 0.26inches.
Era : Edo period Circa Enpo(1673-1681)
Shape : It is wide and thick strong looking katana and there is Kenmaki dragon
and Dokko engraved in Ranma Sukashi open work. It is dense openwork.
It is a dragon design that is about to swallow a dragon.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is dark hada that the hada
Hamon : It is suguha from the hamachi and gradually becomes gunome midare.
The tip is midare komi and pointed edge.
Special feature : Kaga kami Sadahiro is sword smith from Echizen sword smith
and was born in Kanei 17th year 1640. This piece has much width and thickness and has Ranma Sukashi engraved.
It is not Echizen Hori that is regularly seen so it could be engraved later.
Nevertheless it is neat condition that is nice for engraving.
