Wakizashi: Kanemichi

Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Kanemichi
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :Gold single foiled habaki.
Blade length : 38.6cm or 15.19 inches.
Sori : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi : 2.62cm or 1.03 inches.
Kasane : 0.49 cm or 0.19 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi Period
Shape: It is sword with some Sori at the top half of the blade (Sakizori) .
The shape is Hirauchi style. It is Katakiri ba with Gomabashi engraved
on the front and Bo-Hi engraved on the back.
Jitetsu: Koitame hada with mixture of Mokume hada. Jinie attached with clear jigane.
Hamon: Nie deki suguha with ashi, yo attached. Boshi is sharp end hakikake brush up style.

Special feature : This sword Kanemichi is the father of Iga Kami Kanemichi,
Tanba Kami Yoshimichi and Ecchu Kami Masatoshi. He is also the json
of Shizu saburo Kaneuji 9th generation son. He has moved to Tokyo
with his three sons and has moved to Rakuyo .
He was highly reputated with the name of O-Kanemichi.
He is also well known as the swordsmith working under the general
Takeda Shingen from Tenbun to Tensho period.
