This Kazusa Kami Fujiwara Kaneshige belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single habaki.
Blade length : 54.84 cm or 21.59 inches.
Sori : 0.45 cm or 0.17 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.03 cm or 1.19 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.21 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Edo perod Kanbun era.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with small sori Kanbun shape.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attach oohada appear hadatachi jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha qith small ashi. Boshi is round shape.
Special feature : Kazusa (No) Suke Fujiwara Kaneshige was a swordsmith of Musashi province.
He served for the Todo family and also forged sword in Sesshu province, present Mie pref.
His sword is very sharp and ranked at Ryo-wazamono. It is said that a great swordsman Musashi Miyamoto treasured Kaneshige's katana.
The distinctive feature appears on highly-spirited temperline resembled to Kotetsu.

Tsuba : On the round shape iron tsuba, some design is engraved.
Fuchikashira : On the silver plate, some bamboo leaves are engraved.
Saya : Kawarinuri saya. inside of the black roiro saya, many tiny spots are painted.
Menuki : Bamboo leaves are engraved with gold color.
