This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single Habaki.
Blade length : 51.6 cm or 20.31 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.84 cm or 1.11 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.37 cm or 0.93 inches.
Kasane : 0.54 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Late Nanbokucho period.
Shape : Osuriage Mumei Wakizashi.
There are Hi and Bo-Hi on both side.
Jigane : Mokume Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
There are Chikei along the Mokume Hada. There are light Utsuri.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha with Ko-Midare and Nezumi Ashi.
Boshi is Midare Hakikake style.
Special feature: Miike Denta Mitsuyo was well known sword smith in the Miike school.
The founder of this school is Mitsuyo. He is a famous sword smith of Heian period.
They lived in Miike(Omuta city Fukuoka prefecture). So it is said that Miike Denta.
His blades are wide and has wide Bo-Hi. This blade is also typical sword.
It was said that Denta's blades are being treasured of Ashikaga Sgogunate
and one of the 5 swords in the world.
And also, it was said that the "Sohaya no Tsurugi"(literally,
"the sword of Sohaya" was Ieyasu TOKUGAWA's favorite sword.) is Mumei Mistuyo.
It was said that Yagyu Jubei's favorite sword was Miike Denta.
There are Kitae Ware on back side of the blade.
It is hard to find the blade of Miike school. We recommend this blade.
Koshirae : In good condition.
Tsuba : Shakudo Nanako Tachi Tsuba. The rim is also Shakudo with gold.
Fuchikashira : Kojiri: Shakudo Nanako plate.
Saya : Black color, Kawari Nuri Saya.
Menuki : Shakudo, Kiri Mon is engraved with gold color.
