Wakizashi in Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature: Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Osafune Yasumitsu.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 35.6 cm or 14.015 inches.
Sori : 0.3 cm or 0.11 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi :2.635 cm or 1.03 inches.
Kasane :0.61 cm or 0.24 inches.
Weight of only blade: around 242gram.
Era : Early Muromachi Ouei era. period.1399(610 years ago)
Shape : The blade is regular size and rather thick Kasane and longer hibachi style wakizashi.
Jitetsu :Itame had and mokume had mixed with jinie attach
and chikei work. On the Ji, Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Konie deck Suguha with soft feeling Habuchi.
Special feature : osafune Yasumitsu and Moromitsu both top ranking
sword makers in Ouei era bizen school. Even thou the blade is mom,
NBTHK judged as Osafune Yasumitsu. From the fantastic Jignae and hamon,
I think we agree NBTHK shinsa as Yasumitsu. We are impressed very much
about this excellent Jigane with Utsuri and chikei after the Nanbokucyo period.
This Hirauchi wakizashi is good condition without Kizu and flow marvelous item.
Historical background: 1399(ouei 6th): Ouni no Ran occurred.
Daimyo Yoshihiro Ouuchi revolted Japanese feudal Muromachi government
and stayed at the castle Sakai province but defeated.

Tsuba :on the hexagonal shape iron tubs, rise up Mimi(rim). signature:Echizen Kuni ???Jin??
Fuchikashira :On the iron plate, Ume tree and Uguisu(tinny Japanese bird) are engraved.
Saya : black ishimeji saya.
Menuki : Japanese dog is engraved.
Kozuka : On the syakudo plate, tea-making utensils are engraved.
Kogatana : mumei
