Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Mumei(attributed as Ujifusa)

Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Token)

Signature : Mumei(attributed as Ujifusa)

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single habaki with gold color.
Blade length : 33.3 cm or 13.11 inches.
Sori : 0.6 cm or 0.23 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.87 cm or 1.12 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period (1558)
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with double hi on both sides of the blade.
Jitetsu : Koitame and komokume had well grained with jinie attach nice texture.
Hamon : Nioideki gunome midare and togari gunome midare mixed.
Boshi is small round shape and turns back yakisage style.

Special feature : At Muromachi period, at Mino province, Wakasa Kami Ujifusa and Hida Kami Ujifusa are working.
This blade is nioideki so the Tanto must be Wakasa Kami Ujifusa.
On the revers side monouchi area, there is a small kizu but not serious.
I think the blade is healthy and nice bright hamon.
