Wakizashi : Mumei(Uda)

Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Kicho paper)

Signature : Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Uda school.
The blade was polished.
habaki:Silber single habaki.
Blade length : 53.4cm or 21.02 inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or 0.62 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.86 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.07cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.6cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is regular size shape with some sori.
Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
One part is in clear hada.
Hamon : Konie base choji mix with some koashi(legs) and yo(leaves) seen.
It is active hamon. Boshi is midarekomi style.

Special feature : Uda school started from Kamakura to
Nanbokucho period by sword smith such as Kunifusa and Kunimune.
It is regretful that this piece has some kitae cracks at the monouchi area of the ha
but the condition is very good. This sword was made around late Muromachi period.
