Signature : Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Nanki Shigekuni

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Nanki Shigekuni sword belongs to Jyo-jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki: Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 39.2 cm or 15.43 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.12cm or 1.22 inches.
Sakihaba: 2.01cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.61cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Edo oeriod Kanei era. 1624-1645
Shape The blade is rather wide Mitsumune style with small sori and longer nice looking shape.
Nakagojiri is shallow kurijiri with big mekugi ana(hole)
Jigane:Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach beautiful nice Jigane.
Hamon:Niedeki suguha from the hamachi and then notare and gunome midare
with thick nioikuchi and doranba hamon. In Hamon, there are sunagashi and kinsuji work.
The hamon is midarekomi style and yakisage deeply.
Special feature :Nanki Shigekuni's main land is Yamato province and called Kuro Saburo.
His father Kanekuni and Nanki Shigekuni moved to Suruga province in order to study Soshu Den.
At early Keicho, they were retained by Shogun(General) Tokugawa Ieyasu and served to make swords.
At Genna 5th, He moved to Wakayama Marunouchi Kajibashi with Tokugawa Ieyori.
His subjects mainly Soshu style and Yamato style swords.
He learned Soshu style at Suruga province and his original main home is Yamato province.
His swords are mainly Yakizume style and long swords.
The social feature is Kattesagari fall a and big size mekugiana(pick hole) and also shallow kurijiri nakago.
This blade is his typical Soshu style Oo gunome midare and doranba style hamon.
The blade is gorgeous but unfortunately mumei sword(unsigned).
