Shinto: Mino province: Nami Saku
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to regular Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper with gold color.
Blade length : 38.6 cm or 15.19 inches.
Sori :1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.48 cm or 0.97 inches.
Kasane : 0.52 cm or 0.20 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Kyoho era.
Shape : Shobu Tsukuri Wakizashi.
Jigane : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. Hadadachi texture.
Hamon : From Hamachi is Suguha
and then Ko-Gunome Midare with Notare.
Special feature:t is said that the First Jumyo moved from Yamato province
to Mino province in the last Kamakura period.
The workmanship was influenced by both provinces.
The name Jumyo has been thought as a very auspicious for longevity
and used for gift and many swordsmiths used the same name for generations.
This Wakizashi is nice Shobuzukuri.
Koshirae :
Saya : Dark brown.
Tsuba : Iron Tsuba, tea tools? is engraved with open work.
Menuki : Shakudo, horse is engraved.
Fuchi Kashira: Shakudo Nanako, flower is engraved with gold color.
Kozuka: Shakudo Nanako, mantis and cricket are engraved.
