The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : Silver single habaki.
Blade length : 56.0 cm or 22.05 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 3.25 cm or 1.28 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.44 cm or 0.96 inches.
Kasane : 0.62 cm or 0.24 inches.
Weight of only blade : 625 gram
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is wide(3,25cm) and thick and long with long kissaki healthy blade.
Jitetsu : Item had well grained with jinie attach and chikei work and blackish jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki with thick nioikuchi gunome midare.
The hamon constructed by sunagashi, kinsuji and also Imozuru.
Special feature : Motohira is a son of the Oku Motonao and called Kouzaemon.
His brothers Mototake and Motoyasu are also well known sword makers.
He got the title of the Yamato no Kami and passed away at Bunsei 9th July 15th age 83 years.
At Shinto era, Mondo Syo Masakiyo, Ichinohira Yasuyo are quite well known sword makers and also shunshinto period,
Motohira, Houki Kami Masayuki,Mototake and Motoyasu are working at Satsuma province.
Generally Satsuma blades are wide and thick and also nice Jigane and Hamon with sunagashi, kinsuji and Imozuru.
Motohira are first generation and also second generation.
The hamon of the Motohira is gunome midair with thick nioikuchi hamon and sunagashi and Kinsuji a lot.
Boshi is midarekomi style like Shizu school.
Therefor the Motohira swords are changed to Koto shies or well known Koto blade.

This sword is truly fantastic gorgeous sword.
Kantei:genuine Motohira:please look at the shindig line on the nakago.
the shape of the nakago line is not fit on the bottom of the nakago which means slightly different place.
On the upper part of the nakago, one or two lines are engraved.
If the shindig line on the nakago fit the end of the nakago or doesn't have line on the nakago
jiri You should understand the blade is fake.
