Wakizashi : Oumi Daijyo Fujiwara Tadahiro

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshriae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper for the Koshirae)

Signature : Oumi Daijyo Fujiwara Tadahiro.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword : Oumi Daijyo Fujiwara Tadahiro belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku anking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki :Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 57.0 cm or 22.44 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi :1  
Width at the hamachi : 2.9 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki 2.13 cm or 0.83 inches.
Kasane : 0.69 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Edo Kanei era.
Shape : Edo period Kanei era.
Jigane : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach beautiful Hizen Konuka hada.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare with Cyoji midare mixed and also Kobushi cyoji midare and Tama(circle temper line) vivid active wonderful high and low Hamon.

Special feature : Tadahiro the Second was born Heisakuro Hashimoto as a legitimate son of Tadayoshi the First. Tadahiro was only19 years old when his father passed away in1632 but he was enough skillful to forge sword at that time. Tadahiro designated the Omi-Daijo in 1641, aged 29 and continued not only forging sword but also supervised many pupils until his death in 1693, aged 80. He is known as a skillful swordsmith almost all works are above the standard hizen-to. He had been forged sword for a long period of time to leave the largest number of swords among the swordsmiths of Hizen school. He was good at both of Suguha-hamon and Choji-midare Hamon. Especially the beauty of jitetsu called konuka-hada is appreciated as the best among the hizen-to. His swords are ranked at the Owaza-mono because of the sharpness.
This sword is healthy and wide and thick.
I think Tadahiro made 90% suguha hamon and Midare hamon is 10%.
This sword is vivid Midareba hamon up and down.
The blade is also very healthy without Kizu and flow.

Koshirae :
Saya : brown clor kawarinuri saya.
Tsuba : Mokko style syakudo tuba with syakudo fukurin(covered by syakudo plate)
Menuki : On the syakudo nanako roud shape, some Kirimon(family crests) are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : Kojiri:On the syakudo plate some designe are engraved and the edge is made by gold colpr.
