This sword belongs to Jyosaku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold Double foiled habaki
Blade length : 41.6 cm or 16.37 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.85 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.15 cm or 0.84 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : It is wide and thick long kissaki nice shape wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There is Chikei work with clear Hadame pattern.
There is O-hada on the Shinogi-JI area both on the front and back side of the wakizashi.
Hamon : Konie Deki Gunome Midare with Choji Midare mixed.
Special feature : Osaki Masataka is the grandson of Osaki Suketaka and was called Osaki Tenrushi.
He was born in Osaka and has received the post of Nagato Kami when moved to Kyoto to forge sword.
Most of his works have well grained plain style Jigane however he has also succeeded on making clear Hadame pattern works as well.
This piece is small size however it is powerful well grained Hada pattern wakizashi.
There is signature Ryu Musha Sagami Suke Fujiwara Motokuni Ason Tame Shoji.
