Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Yamato no koku Ju(Den Senjyuin)

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)

Signature : Yamato no koku Ju(Den Senjyuin, Nanbokucho Period)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 47.5 cm or 18.70 inches.
Sori : 0.7 cm or 0.27 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.75 cm or 1.08 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : early period.
Shape : It is nagamaki style but the nakago is cut shorten.
The signature is engraved Yamato Koku Jyu.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. There is much chikei works.
Hamon : Konie Deki with deep nioiguchi suguha style with mixture of Kogunome.
Ashi is attached tenderly.
There is fine sunagashi and kinsuji works. Boushi is pointy at the tip and burned down.

Special feature : NIe deki suguha with mixture of notareba and gunome midare.
There are many Ko-Ashi attached altering in complicating form.
There is big Itame hada with jigane well grained. It is top class jigane.
This piece is attributed as Senjyuin and belong to Yamato school.
The fine jigane and the complex hamon work is hard to describe
other than that it is excellent work. It is comparative to Jyuyo Token.

Tsuba :Shakudo Ishimeji with flower design engraved and inlayed with gold.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo plate with flower and butterfly deisgn.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya
Menuki : Shakudo plate with flower deisgn engraved and inlayed with gold.
Kozuka : Silver plate with flower design engraved
