This Yoshiyuki belongs to jyo-jyou saku ranking.
The blade was polished by good polisher.
Habaki:gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 52.4 cm or 20.62 inches.
Sori : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.91 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.26 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Kanbun era.
Shape : Ragular size, Kanbun Shinto style Wakizashi.
Jitetsu :Ko-itame had well grained with jinie attach beautiful texture.
Hamon : Niedeki noter hamon with rather thick nioikuchi and round boshi.
The hamon is bright and looks cut well sword.
Special feature : Mutsu Kami Yoshiyuki was a son of the Harima Kami Yoshinari
and muved to Osaka and studied under the Yamato Kamo Yoshimichi.
His real name was Heisuke Morishita and adopted son of the Yamaoka family.
At Genroku first year, He became craft man of the Tosa domain.
Yoshiyuki is well known because Ryoma Sakamoto used his sword and got
assassinated by unknown enemy.
He tried to resist and fought but sudden enemy's attack he didn't have much
time to fight eonaugh against enemy's attack.. He was killed.
He loved Tosa Yoshiyuki very much and keep the sword always with him.
THis sword is mentioned cutting test on the tang.
Rakunishi Nizaemon tried to cutting test at Kanbun 5th March 27th.
The blade succeeded to cut the body and reached the sword temper to the ground.
We recommend this Tosa Yoshiyuki which was loved by Sakamoto Ryoma.
He is one of the best Samurai at late Edo period and influenced a lot to Meiji government.
