The blade was polished.
Blade length : 38.6cm or 15.2inches.
Sori : 1cm or 0.39inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.86cm or 1.13inches.
Kasane : 0.73cm or 0.29inches.
Era : Late Kamakura to early Nanbokucyo period.
Shape : The sword was originally a naginata
but has been cut shorten. It is nice shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with fine jitetsu and chikei attached.
There are sunagashi and fine kinsuji.
Hamon : Nie base suguha with kogunome put.
There is ashi and yo activity and nioiguchi is soft.
Special feature : Shikkake School of Yamato province prospered present Tenri City in Nara pref.
The name Shikkake was from Shikkake-ishi, the stone pedestal settling down
the portable shrine to take a rest on the way of religious services.
The first generation Norinaga is said to be the child of Norihiro.
The Yamato school blades at this time had extremely elegant jigane works.
This sword has exceedingly nice and clear jigane.
There are full of activities in the hamon and it is yakizume style.
There are kitae-ware on both side monouchi area. it is not serious though.
The jigane and hamon is excellently made. There is also high quality polish done.

Landscape is finely engraved and inlayed with gold and silver.

Fuchikashira :castle, boat and bridge is engraved.

Menuki : Round shape granulated shakudo tsuba with kiri-mon engraved and inlayed with gold.
